Under a YouTube performance of Bellamina, someone wrote that it is the same tune as A Tisket a Tasket.
Well, it isn't.
However, the mistake is understandable because the two songs have much in common during their opening eight bars.
The rhythm and melody of those first eight bars are almost identical. The chord progression for these bars is virtually the same, too:
Bellamina:
I | I | I | I | V7 | V7 | V7 | I
A Tisket a Tasket:
I | I | I | I | IIm7:V7 | IIm7:V7 | IIm7: V7 | I
But Bellamina is a tune of just 16 bars. The remaining 8 bars are unlike anything to be found in the rest of A Tisket a Tasket.
Indeed A Tisket a Tasket runs to 32 bars in total, with an a-a-b-a structure.
